Join us this Saturday, February 3rd for a full day of piping and drumming!
The day will get underway at 12:00 pm with the Branch’s 2018 Amateur Piobaireachd Contest. The afternoon will feature competitors across three categories:
- A Piobaireachd – 1 full piobaireachd – own choice
- B Piobaireachd – 1 full piobaireachd – own choice
- C Piobaireachd – 1 ground – own choice
Judges: Brian Williamson, Andrea Boyd, and Ed Bush
Order of Play: Details have been sent directly to registered competitors, and can be viewed here.
Where: HMCS Bytown Naval Officers’ Mess – 78 Lisgar St. in downtown Ottawa.
Cost: $7.00 (competitors and attendees at the piobaireachd contest get in free for the evening’s Knockout).
Join us the evening of February 3rd for the Knockout contest, featuring:
- A Piping – MSR (4 parts min. each tune)
- B Piping – Mini MSR (2 parts max. each tune)
- A Drumming – HJ
- B Drumming – 6/8 March
Judges: Jacob Dicker, Ed Bush, and Brendan Kelly.
When and Where: 7:30 pm, HMCS Bytown Naval Officers’ Mess
NOTE: Given the large number of competitors, B and A categories will run concurrently on different floors.
Competitors can still register, or sign up on the day of the contest. On-the-day entrants will play first in each category.
Knockout Finals: The results of Saturday’s Knockout will determine who advances to the Knockout finals on March 3rd! Knockout point standings can be found here.
