ball Sam Scott Summer School July 5-9,
The Second Annual "" Sam Scott Summer  School of Piping and Drumming"" will be taking place from July 5-9, 2010 at St. Michael's Catholic High School in Kemptville, Ontario. Classes being offered are for students who are beginner/novice, Grades 5, 4, 3, and  2 in all of Piping, Side  Drumming and Mid-Section.
The $290.00 tuition cost is based upon two classes per day with a maximum of students per class.  We will try to accommodate everyone if at all possible.   We are not for profit organization  keeping the cost of the learning process to a minimum whilst ensuring the highest possible teaching standards. .
This year one student whose family passes a needs test application will receive their tuition free of charge.  There is also a draw from all the participants and the lucky person will receive half their tuition back.  For registration and /or information please contact me at john.wright061@sympatico.ca

ball B in the Park Thursday July 29th
Major's Hill Park, Ottawa

Show is 6:15 pm until 8:45....this year the band welcomes the City of Chicago, Rocky Mountain PB of Calgary, and the St. Andrew's Society of Winnipeg Pipe Bands. Beer tent sponsored by Glenfiddich and the Caledonian Brewery of Edinburgh, limited edition event t shirts and door prize to be announced. Tickets only $10.00 and are onsale June 1 through the Sons site and at the Scottish and Irish Stores.

ball Pipefest 2010 Canada, Saturday August 7th
Parliament Hill, Ottawa

Along with parades in Hong Kong, Sydney, New York and Edinburgh, Ottawa is part of this 24 hour piping initiative to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society. Highland dancers are welcomed to join up to be part of a massed fling, and all area pipe bands are invited to take part in this wonderful endeavour. Information will continue to be updated on the Sons of Scotland website at www.sospb.com and more details on registration are available at www.pipefest.com/canada We hope you join us on this terrific day that will support a wonderful cause.
