February 9th Knockout Results

A grand evening was had on Saturday night, with a special edition of the Ottawa Branch Knockout series. The “A” Piping contestants battled for the Canadian Content Contest trophy, while the winner of the “B” Piping was awarded the Major Archie Cairns Cup. At the end of the night we were treated to a recital from judge Andrea Boyd. A special thanks to our judges and volunteers who ensured that the busy evening ran smoothly!

Amateur Piobaireachd Contest: Saturday, March 9, 2019

Registration Deadline: Wednesday February 27th. Register here! Fee: $7.00 at the door for contest entrants and attendees (includes admission to Knockout contest that evening)

Location: HMCS Bytown Naval Officers’ Mess, 78 Lisgar St. in downtown Ottawa.

Contests:

“C” Piobaireachd (Main Level):

  1. Requirements: One (1) ground – own choice

  2. Grade approximation – New piobaireachd players, those with limited Novice competitive experience

“B” Piobaireachd (Crow’s Nest):


  1. Requirements: One (1) full piobaireachd – own choice

  2. Grade approximation – Experienced Novice, Junior Amateur

“A” Piobaireachd (Main Level):


  1. Requirements: One (1) full piobaireachd – own choice

  2. Grade approximation – Intermediate and Senior Amateur


Order of play is reverse of entry, so register today to secure a later draw!

 

Knockout Finals: Saturday, March 9, 2019

Location: HMCS Bytown Naval Officers’ Mess, 78 Lisgar St. in downtown Ottawa.

Doors open 7:00 pm, contest starts at 7:30 pm

Fee: Competitors and attendees, $7.00 at the door

2019 Glengarry Cup Professional MSR Contest

When: April 13, 2019, 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm

Where: Royal Canadian Air Force Officers’ Mess 158 Gloucester Street, Ottawa K2P 0A6

Cost: $10.00

The Glengarry Cup Open Professional MSR Contest is held in April and select participants are invited to play. Participants must play a 2/4 March, Strathspey and Reel in that order. This contest is a definite must see event if you want to experience a high calibre of play in the finest tradition. Please join us!

 

Ottawa Indoor Highland Games

When: May 4, 2019, 8:00 am – 5:30 pm

Where: St. Michael’s Catholic High School 2755 County Rd 43, Kemptville K0G 1J0

Cost: $10.00 (Competitor or Spectator)
