- Stating your name and contest: All video submissions must start with the competitor stating your name, the name of the tune, and the name of the contest. This is important to help ensure that your submission is unique for this contest.
- Highland dress: We’re asking competitors to play in highland dress to help keep the spirit of Ottawa Branch events. Rules on what constitutes proper highland dress can be found in the PPBSO Rule Book
Registration
FREE for paid members of the PPBSO Ottawa Branch, $5.00 for members of other PPBSO branches, $10.00 for non-PPBSO members. Non-Branch members will be contacted to facilitate payment.
How it works - FAQ
Competitors must submit a new registration/video URL before each contest (you cannot enter for all dates at once, as was possible for past in-person series). A new registration form will be made available before each contest date.
Where Do I upload my video?
All competitors are required to upload their video to YouTube. Videos do not have to be public, but must be either public or unlisted (see here for more information on how to set your privacy settings). By selecting unlisted, you will still be able to share your video with the PPBSO Ottawa Branch (and the judge) without it being publicly available. Also, please do not select that your video is not made for kids, this way the branch can share your winning performance on social media. Finally, leave your video posted until the results have been announced.
When are the submission dates for my videos?
The registration and video submission cut-offs are listed in the tune requirements in the section above. Judging will take place following the listed cut-off date. However, The earlier you submit your video, the sooner we can validate it and catch any problems that might result in a disqualification.
What if I make a change to my video?
Once you’ve submitted your video link, you cannot change it! Uploading a new video will result in a new URL which will invalidate the old video.
When will the results be released?
Within 7-10 days following each submission date, results will be posted, and score sheets will be emailed to each competitor.
