Piping Workshops with Ben Miller – Small pipes or border pipes (A) Oct. 29

On Saturday October 29 11am to 1pm Ben Miller (http://www.bmillerpipes.com) will teach a two hour workshop in traditional Gaelic piping for smallpipes or border pipes in A. Ben is also available for private lessons on D pipes or highland pipes earlier the same day.

The workshop will be held on Sat. Oct. 29 from 11am to 1pm at St. Thomas the Apostle Church at 2345 Alta Vista Drive in Ottawa, ON. Advance registration preferred, onsite registration will be available space permitting. The cost for the workshop is $25.

Ben is a player of Scottish smallpipes, border pipes and the highland pipes whose repertoire and style draw mainly on the Gaelic traditions of western Scotland and the Canadian maritimes, blended with a healthy dash of Irish tunes for good measure. He is an experienced instructor, in both one-on-one and group settings. He has been a member of teaching staff at several large-scale piping workshops, including the Piper’s Gathering (Vermont, USA), P.E.I. Fiddle Camp (Prince Edward Island, CAN) and the Maine Pipes and Fiddle Worksops (Maine, USA).

Ben will also play at a house concert later that evening accompanied by Anita MacDonald on fiddle, Zakk Cormier on and Tyson Chen on piano. The trio have been touring across North America, Denmark, the United Kingdom, and further afield to promote their recent ECMA nominated full length album “A Day at the Lake”.
