We’re looking forward to this weekend’s Knockout, taking place at the HMCS Bytown Naval Officers’ Mess (78 Lisgar St. in downtown Ottawa).
The evening will feature:
A Piping MSR: Pipers will compete for the Allan Quinn Memorial Quaich.
40+ Drumming: 6/8 March
B Drumming: 6/8 March
A Drumming: Hornpipe/Jig
Note: The evening will begin with the A Piping contest at 7:30, followed by the drumming events thereafter.
When: 7:30 pm
Cost: $7.00 per person
We are pleased to be joined by Chris Bell to judge the drumming events, and Andrew Hayes who will judge the evening’s piping contest.
Andrew will also provide a few tunes after the piping and drumming contests. Andrew’s numerous piping accomplishments include both the Gold Medal and A-Grade MSR at the Northern Meeting in Inverness (2010 and 2011 respectively). This year alone, he won the prestigious Gillies Cup in London, and in August won his fifth Bar to the Piobaireachd Society Gold Medal (Canada) in Maxville.
