The PPBSO-Ottawa Branch K-O season is coming to its climatic end as we will be crowning the winners of 2015-16 series on March 5th.
The day will be starting with a piobaireachd workshop in the afternoon with double gold medal winner, senior judge and all around authority Colin MacLellan. Colin will be providing us with insights into various 2016 gold and silver medal tunes, recordings, the various settings, and some pitfalls to avoid in the presentation of these tunes. For those of you who have either competitive or a pleasured interest of ceol mor, this will be a fantastic afternoon of insight and passing of knowledge from one the best. Online registration is available here.
Later that evening Mr. MacLellan will be judging and awarding a winner for both the A and B grade piping. We will also be eagerly anticipating the winners of the A and B grade drumming as well. All competitors will be performing a medley of their own choice, which will make for a very entertaining and varied evening of great piping and drumming.
Those who have endured a winter of pressure and competitive excellence and made it to the finals are:
A-Grade Piping: Kaitlin Kimove, Charles David Mitchell, Ryan D. Ross and Ross Davison
B-Grade Piping: Finley Van de ven, Lynn MacGillivary and Callum Gauthier
A-Drumming: Rita DeNobriga
B-Drumming: Jordan Francis Dunne, Shahna Summers, Brandon Joseph Nadeau, Malcom Odell and Joshua Brazeau
Following all this great playing and entertainment Colin will be providing us with what will be a first class recital. As usual there will be a raffle prize that will keep the cockles of your heart warm through till the passing of winter and dawning of spring.
As usual all will be taking place in the cozy setting that is the
HMCS Bytown Naval Officers’ Mess 78 Lisgar St Ottawa, ON K2P 0C1 Canada
Looking forward to seeing what has to be one of the most supportive and enthusiastic piping communities on March 5th.
