Our February 6th Knockout contest will be preceded that afternoon by a bass and mid-section drumming workshop. We are very happy to be joined that afternoon by Kahlil Cappuccino of the Grade 1 78th Highlanders (Halifax Citadel) Pipe Band. Some topics for Saturday, February 6th include:
Mastering the fundamentals – technique, bass-player’s role, care, maintenance, tuning
Creating mindsets and being physically prepared
Playing with dynamics, groove and feel
Playing different idioms (e.g. marches, strathspeys, hornpipes, jigs, reels)

How do I register?
Registration will go live THIS weekend. This weekend (Saturday, January 9th) we are also hosting a Knockout contest “B” Division pipers. We are happy to be joined that evening by Alan Clark, who will judge and provide a short recital after the contest. We hope to see you there!
