The Ottawa Branch extends its sincere condolences to the friends and family of George May, who passed away at the Glebe Centre on July 11th at the age of 96.
A graduate of Queen’s Science ’51, George enjoyed a long career in telecommunications, serving with the RCAF (1943-46), Bell Canada (1951-71), and the federal Deptartment of Communications where he retired from in 1987.
George was a big supporter of the piping and drumming community in Eastern Ontario. Three of his children, Ross, Richard and Fred are pictured below in front of the Glebe Centre, where they have been providing performances to residents for the past few months.
