Pipers in Ottawa, across the country and indeed around the world are invited to participate in a Remembrance Day 2020 Call to Pipers to play the lament, “Flowers of the Forest” or "Amazing Grace" at 11:01 a.m. on November 11 from wherever they are in Canada and around the world. Due to the evolving situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, the National Remembrance Day Ceremony 2020 will be a more intimate commemoration and the Royal Canadian Legion is encouraging spectators to watch from their home this year.
Pipers' performances of “Flowers of the Forest” or "Amazing Grace" in their community – from their porch, balcony or driveway - will help us all to remember and recognize our veterans and their sacrifice and service to country. Pipers are invited to record their performance on video or snap a photo and share on the Scottish Society of Ottawa social media channels.
